History of ERD

At ERD we have been repairing equipment since our beginning in 1995. With over 15 years experience we consider ourselves to be the leaders in the repair, service, and supply of all industrial products. Whatever your requirement, we can help. A major advantage of dealing with ERD is that we are the only Electronic Repair Company in the US that started solely by being the repair center of other repair centers for the first several years. We accepted and repaired the hardest, most unsupported items others may have solicited but had no ability to repair. Starting out with our Digital Board repair philosophy which combined traditional test equipment along with our Schlumberger 635 in-circuit testers, we gradually added the more standard drive and power supply repair.

After we added typical repairs in the late 90's we saw the large need for handling closed loop motor control systems. We were a Baldor warranty center, and gradually we evolved that into the high level closed loop systems Baldor had - including vector AC VFDs and the European servo products they had acquired from ASR Servotron. Shortly thereafter we became the Baumuller Repair center for the US, eliminating their need to return all repairs to Germany. In addition to this technology change ERD also became more into the distribution market, receiving most of it's work flow from major industrial distributors in all 50 states.

Due to ERD's extensive experience with every item no one else wanted to repair, we developed our skills and infrastructure to keep our lead times to less than 5 days as an average - reducing the lead time for normal expected repairs and decreasing potentially expensive downtime. ERD also had to develop a capability of providing custom part manufacturing on hundreds of major manufacturers of industrial products, including in-stock keypads on a range of OIT terminals and displays plus a lot of custom rewinding of transformers.
